Everyone is welcome to participate in this fun, family event. This event evolved from a book she wrote about her dad, Run the Race: A Father’s Legacy of Life Lessons, for cathartic reasons after losing him to cancer too soon.
The 5K promotes the importance of the Dad and Daughter relationship as well as the commitment to the entire family.
The 5k is unique because it is the only one in the nation that promotes the importance of the Dad & Daughter relationship. And it has been trademarked to take the message nationwide. Also, it is a 50lc that gives to a 501c.
A portion of the proceeds go to Phoenix Family, a social service organization that supports low-income families, single moms and the elderly. They also have an after-school Hike Program that provides reading resources and tutoring. It’s an outstanding program to help people be successful and protects them from being homeless.
